Beans Palya/Sabzi

Preparation time : 20 mins

Ingredients :


  • Green Beans : 500 gms
  • Channa dl - 4 big sp
  • Onions - 3 (medium)
  • Green chili - 6
  • Urad Dal - 1 sp
  • Oil - 4-5sp
  • Mustard seed - 1/4 sp
  • Curry leaves - 10
  • Coriander leaves - to garnish
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut - 1 small bowl ( grated)
Method:
  • Channa dal must be soaked in water for at-least 20 mins.
  • Finely cut green beans and soaked channa dal must be pressure cooked with 1/2 sp salt till 2-3 whistles.wait until pressure goes off.
  • Meanwhile heat 4-5 sp oil in a pan, add mustard seed allow them to pop well.
  • Add urad dal and fry until light brown.
  • Add slit green chilies and curry leaves nd fry for a while.
  • Add finely chopped onions and a pinch of salt and fry until they are transparent.
  • Drain the excess water from cooked beans and channa dal and add it to the pan. mix well and let them cook together for few mins.
  • Turn off the flame, Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut and serve.
