Red chutney

Preparation time: 15 mins

Ingredients:


  • Onion - 2 medium
  • Byadgi mensinkai/byadgi chili - 10 - 12
  • Guntoor chili - 5
  • Garlic- 7 - 8 small pods
  • Jeera - 1/2 sp
  • Coriander leaves - 1 small bowl
  • Jaggery - small lemon size
  • Tamarind - small piece
  • Curry leaves - 10
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Dry fry the red chilies till they are crisp, make a fine powder of chilies in a mixer.
  • To the jar add sliced onions, garlic, curry leaves, coriander leaves, jeera, jaggery, tamarind and salt to taste, blend them well with small amount of water to make it a thick paste.
  • You can apply this red chutney inside the masala dosa and also goes well with akki rotti.
